With loop mania sweeping the globe, BOSS proudly announces the most powerful Loop Station ever brought to the market — the RC-300. The new flagship looper features three synchronized stereo tracks with dedicated volume knobs and transport-control footswitches for each track. It’s also equipped with pro effects, a master Expression pedal, and a deluxe, ultra-wide control panel for the ultimate in live-performance manipulation. Plug in your guitar, bass, keyboard, or instrument of choice and create amazing loops in real time. An XLR input is also provided, complete with phantom power, so singers, percussionists, violinists, beatboxers, or anyone with a mic’d instrument can get in on the act, too. The RC-300 lets you record for up to three hours directly to its internal memory, adding effects as you go. The USB port lets you save your loops externally, as well as import/export WAV files. Step into the most powerful and inspiring Loop Station in BOSS history. It’s the creative powerhouse that musicians have been dreaming of!
The Boss RC-300 Loop Station pedal allows vocalists, guitarists, bassists, keyboard players and other musicians to create involved, complex soundscapes by laying down and overdubbing their songs, layering music into bigger tonal possibilities all from one looper.
With a memory that’s capable of holding up to three hours of looping – whether that be in one huge creation or split between easily-saveable songs – which can be saved, recalled, re-edited and embellished via easy-use control knobs, faders and display panels which quickly make clear what each of the footswitches and expression pedal across the wide, uncluttered chassis will trigger.
Once you’ve started to work on your loops, a plethora of BOSS effects can then be added, including transposing options, modulation, bass emulation for guitarists and phaser. Those players who are only just starting to work with loops will be relieved to find a legendary quantise feature, which means that your loops and overdubs will always sound perfectly in time when you drop them in and out.
With facility to connect a mic via XLR and an instrument through a 1/4” input at the same time, any singer songwriter can now bring huge amounts of depth to their sound, and can use the USB interface built in to the Boss RC-300 to move songs back and forth to their computer.
Whether you’re a seasoned looper or a first-timer, this unit has enough easily-edited power to make textured soundscapes a complete doddle.
I have recently bought this pedal and I must say that I have had lots of fun discovering its musical potential. The design is great, really strong, the foot switches respond perfectly. The features are literaly unlimited, giving you any posibility you can imagine. It performs great and its certainly worth the money. A small issue may be the handling of effects and the time it takes to go through the list to activate them, but even this can be solved if you accurately program it before starting to play. Its a must for anyone who is serious about their looping!
Probably like many others who are considering this loop station, I've used various loopers over the years, from the basic single track pedals, through to the RC-30 which was my looper of choice for the last few years (and which I'll still use for smaller events) and now I've taken the plunge and got one of these bad boys.
First impressions out of the box - big, sturdy, usual Boss build quality. Instantly feels like a good product. Switch it on, plug in and it's pretty easy to get going straight out of the box. The headphone output is a great addition for practicing at home.
Three individually controlled tracks and a separate start/stop all pedal makes for some really versatile looping and you can quickly get lost in it when you first start! Dig a little deeper and there's the super useful expression pedal, which can be programmed to use in many different ways. There's also some really useable built-in effect which I wasn't expecting to use - but I actually think I will. Impressive.
I have absolutely tons more to explore with this pedal - will need a bit more practice before taking it out on the road though!
Incredibly powerful piece of gear. In some ways I prefer it to the new Boss RC600 (eg I use the RC300's expression pedal as a wah pedal - there's no expression pedal in the RC600).
I'm unreservedly delighted with this pedal.
