The DD-7 is much more than just a pure Delay pedal: next to an interesting selection of effects such as Reverse or Modulation Echos, a Looper is also onboard with 40 seconds of recording time with overdubs.
The Expression pedal input allows, combined with the Boss FS-5U for example, tap-tempo functions to be controlled via a footswitch or realize continuous tempo control via the Roland EV-5 pedal. In addition, the Boss DD-7 can also be integrated quite easily into stereo setups this way.
Features:
Very good digital delay. Except for electric guitar, its perfect for studio and DJ mixers with have AUX and returns. I use it in conjunction with the drum machines and synths. It makes nice space in my records. Use by many DJs in sets. Its not analog but sound is very big. Highly recomend!
So, Ive tried a bunch of different delay pedals in my live-rig so far, but Im going to stick with this one, for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the sound, this delay unit is very clear and audible in a live situation. Ive owned an EHX Memory Boy (which is a great delay-unit aswell by the way) but I noticed that the repeats, because of the nature of analog delay, were a bit too dark and inaudible for me in a live situation. Second, this pedal is built like a tank. I dont see this thing breaking down very easily. Adding to that, this pedal is true-bypass and it doesnt color my sound whatsoever! At last, this thing packes a lot of options, like tap-tempo, looperfunction, digital or modulated or analog delay, etc. More than youll probably need.
I highly recommend this product, to any guitarist who wants a big-sounding delay that also sounds very clear! Definitly worth the money for me
I have my DD7 for many years and it is a very handy pedal.
Lots of features and endless possibylities. Love the fact that can be used as a looper and you can actuay record with it. It has a great tap tempo feature that comes out very handy in live situations.
By one and you will not regreat. This is my advice.
But worth the money in my opinion.
First of all the unit is ultra solid. I am a very clumsy person and this tanky pedal is just perfect for me.
The sound is great. I don't hear the difference with an analog delay.
Few feature. The reverse delay sounds great. It's a pretty straight forward unit.
Sounds better and is more solid than the flashback in my opinion.
