Innovative tube top for stage, Studio and living room
With the Blackstar St. James 50 EL34 Head, the amplifier specialists from Northampton present an innovative tube top for electric guitar, which combines a pleasingly low Gewicht of just 6.7 kg with extensive features for stage and recording studio. Based on an innovative circuit that combines classic tube technology with a modern switching power supply, the guitar amp delivers diverse vintage sounds between glassy cleans and a moderate low-gain overdrive. In addition to the option to reduce the power amp output, the St. James 50 EL34 comes with an integrated Reactive Load and the Cab Rig speaker simulation for silent recording or silent stage performances. furthermore, a reverb effect, an FX loop and an integrated USB audio interface complete the features of the St. James 50 EL34 guitar amplifier from Blackstar.
Flexible sound between Clean and High-Gain
With the two-channel ECC83 preamp, the St. James 50 EL34 head turns out to be a first-class all-rounder for almost any style. While Channel I is clearly oriented towards Californian amps of the sixties and delivers glassy clean sounds with high effect pedal compatibility, Channel II promises a moderate low gain drive with typical British chime and first-class dynamic behavior. In addition to the switchable 10 dB boost, which significantly increases the distortion reserves of Channel II, the St. James 50 EL34 comes with a 3-band tone control to adjust the guitar sound and a harmonically tuned reverb effect.
The clear control panel of the two-channel Blackstar St. James 50 EL34 Head helps to quickly and intuitively adjust the guitar sound.
EL34 power amplifier with power reduction
The power amp of the Blackstar St. James 50 EL34 works naturally with two of the name-giving EL34 tubes and delivers 50 watts of power with a decidedly British sound character, which promises sufficient volume reserves for rehearsals and smaller gigs. The SAG mode provides a clear compression and a smoother feel. and the amp can also be used in the home four walls, the power can be reduced to a neighbor-suitable two wat ts.
Reactive load resistor and speaker simulation
To ensure that the St. James 50 Head can be used for silent recording or contemporary silent stage environments, Blackstar equips it with a Reactive Load resistor and high-caliber speaker simulation. While the Reactive Load simulates the complex interaction between the power amplifier and the voice coil of a loudspeaker, the Blackstar Cab Rig Speaker Sim with powerful DSP promises particularly detailed and natural sound experiences when recording directly via the balanced XLR output, the line out or the integrated USB audio interface.
Besides the connections for guitar cabinets and the effects path, the rear panel of the St. James 50 EL34 Head presents the USB port for the integrated audio interface and the "Cab Rig" outputs for direct pickup.
