With the Pro VS Mini, Behringer brings the 1986 synthesizer classic Sequential Circuits Prophet VS into the modern era and at the same time reduces it to a handy format. The special feature of the Prophet VS -as well as the Pro VS Mini- is the Vector Synthesis, which mixes four oscillators, each with its own waveform and Tuning via joystick and/or mix envelope, creating different waveform mixtures due to overlays than would be possible with a normal oscillator mixer. The oscillators themselves share a pool of 128 waveforms that can be combined as desired. The Vector mixer is followed by an analogue 24dB Lowpass filter, the signal path is completed by the VCA and the Chorus effect. The latter is a guarantor for even more lively sounds, especially for pads and pads. For modulation, as with the original, three ADSR envelopes (VCF, VCA, Mix), two LFOs, velocity and the arpeggiator with three playback patterns are used. Never before has vector synthesis been so affordable, plus the Pro VS Mini comes relatively close to the original from the 80s. The integrated step sequencer offers access to 16 patterns, which are programmable with different scaling and shuffle values. The note input is done with the capacitive 27-key mini-keyboard or via MIDI. Power is supplied exclusively via the USB port, MIDI also enters the synthesizer via USB and the DIN jack. Thanks to an extensive MIDI implementation, the instrument can be conveniently automated with the DAW or a master sequencer. For own sounds 32 memory slots are provided.
