The Behringer Deepmind 6 is an analogue synthesizer with 6x polyphony, 37 keys and a wide range of functions.DeepMind 6 offers four effect engines, two oscillators per voice and a flexible lowpass filter with selectable edge steepness (12 dB/24 dB) as well as three ADSR envelopes and a 32-step sequencer.A striking feature is the modulation matrix, which can be used to link numerous modulation sources and targets. This allows the DeepMind 6 to create very complex sounds and offers a lot of potential for wacky sound experiments. The DeepMind 6 is also the right choice for conventional synthesizer sounds, as you would expect from a classic vintage synth. iPad/PC/Mac and selected Android apps can be controlled remotely via MIDI and USB.
OSC 1 optionally generates a sawtooth vibration and square waveforms with variable pulse width (PWM) and OSC 2 generates square waveforms with tone modulations. The combination of the square waveforms of OSC 1 and the Tone Modulations of OSC 2 give DeepMind 6 its fresh and special character that you have never heard before in current synthesizers. The circuit of the sound-shaping oscillators is the modern rebirth of the popular analog circuit designs of the 80s and enables a fat vintage sound. The sound of DeepMind 6 is produced completely analog and can be made even more exciting and lively with four studio-quality digital effects.
The development of DeepMind 6 focused on creative music-making and direct access to all important sound-forming elements. This includes direct access to the analog lowpass filter (12dB/24dB) with adjustable filter resonance and cut-off tracking as well as envelope fader, which seamlessly converts the individual segments into linear and exponential or inverted exponential envelopes. In addition, all six voices of DeepMind can bundle into powerful Unison and Poly-Modes with Detune, Pan Spread and Drift, creating amazingly fat sounds. The global noise generator extends the waveform options and thus the sound spectrum.
Each voice has two LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators) with vibration rates reaching into the audio range.
The LFO´s are adjustable in:
The LFO´s can be operated with the Phase Link Option Unison (mono) or in the link with adjustable offset. In addition, the LFOs for cross-modulation-like effects can follow the beaten pitches.
Three ADSR envelopes with four segments each (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) are available in Behringer DeepMind 12 for sound shaping. Usually, each segment offers a continuously variable characteristic curve for even more flexibility. DeepMind 12 flexible envelopes can be triggered by pressing a key on the keyboard, the LFOs, or a sequencer. In addition, the envelopes can be looped.
Four simultaneous FX engines include over 33 world-class TC ELECTRONIC, MIDAS and KLARK TEKNIK algorithms - including reverb, chorus, flanger, phaser, delay, multiband distortion and many more. For flawless performance and flexible routing, all DEEPMIND 12 effects work with extremely low latencies.
Do you want to control the length of the reverb, or the effect of the compressor with the modulation wheel? Or how about having the MIDAS multiband distortion controlled by an LFO, or by aftertouch? With 19 modulation sources and more than 130 targets, there are no limits in DeepMind 12´s Modulation assignments that are intuitively assigned by pressing and holding shortcuts, opening another path to explore in addition to synthesis.
The speed adjustable sequencer can be synced via MIDI and allows 32-step value change patterns, which can vary between 0-127. Other parameters that can be controlled by the sequencer: Pitch, bound notes and note length, rise time and swing. These can all be routed as modulation sources to any available destination. The envelopes also have a mode in which they are triggered by the step sequencer.
A comprehensive remote control is possible for the DEEPMIND 12 via iPad/PC/Mac and selected Android Apps via USB, MIDI, or via the built-in WiFi for extended parameter control. The iPad app also offers a reliable preset manager, a gig list editor and an integral patch morpher.
