Audient and Twonotes present Sono, an amp modeling USB interface designed specifically for guitar recording. The special feature is the tube preamplifier including 12AX7 tube, which in combination with the Torpedo Remote software, a 3-band tone control and the Class A microphone preamplifiers offers many possibilities to obtain high-quality guitar sounds. This software provides a huge selection of loudspeaker simulations, based on classics by Marshall, Fender, Mesa Boogie, etc., while room type, type of miking and the virtual microphone itself can be adjusted at any time. Thanks to Sono's Preset function, up to 3 presets can be stored and used in stand-alone mode without computer connection, e.g. for live performances. The D.I. input allows users to traditionally record clean D.I. signals or feed additional pedal boards.
Of course, Sono also offers a powerful recording interface for creating extremely low-noise and transparent recordings. Via the integrated ADAT interface, users can expand the number of inputs to a total of 10 (e.g. by Audient ASP 800 or 880) to enable drum kit recording. Practically, the "to valve" function allows vocal microphones, synths or drum machines to pass through the tube preamp, analog equalizer and torpedo software to create new sounds or benefit from the classic analog warmth.
Due to living in a small space with my daughter It's never practical to mic up my amp for recordings. The Audient Sono makes it so easy to just turn on my computer and dial in an incredible sound in minutes. Happy days!
