The Arturia Beatstep Pro is a MIDI controller and step sequencer for modular systems, DAW, drum expander, synthesizer and other analog equipment. The back of the flat designed control center offers all important connections from the analog and digital world: MIDI and clock inputs and outputs, USB, eight drum triggers and three full CV/Gate/Mod outputs. Primarily, the Beatstep Pro offers three tracks, divided into two melody tracks and one drum track. So you have the free choice, for example, to trigger the drum modules in the Eurorack modular system, elicit the bassline from a MIDI expander and create the chord sound with a VST plug-in.
Likewise, everything could be sequenced in the DAW via USB or a compact setup could be fired via MIDI. Drums and notes are entered with the velocity-sensitive pads, the TR grid and the 16 encoders. The latter can also be used as controllers in the DAW. Live parameters like random, probability and shuffle can be applied per track or globally for all tracks. With the Arturia Beatstep Pro, live jams, beatmaking and sequences succeed in no time; the device's workflow quickly becomes second nature.
Wish I’d bought one of these before now - used lots of different sequencers but this has best features and bang for buck
It does what it claims to do very well, sadly I won’t be keeping it long but not for any reason other than it’s excess to what I need
