With Rabbit Hole, Apollo View Modular presents a curious combination of summing and tube distortion. The hybrid circuit design is based on proven OTA construction and a 12AU7 tube. The two audio inputs, which also have VCA functionality, can be attested a beautiful Vintage sound with a musical overdrive behavior. The outputs of the VCAs are summed and forwarded to a solid-state drive circuit, which clips the signal hard at higher gain settings before it reaches the vacuum tube. With OWTH (Off With Their Heads), a diode distortion, a further, independent-sounding distortion can be switched on. The character that the tube and the distortion options imprint on the signal ranges from subtle warmth to total destruction of the sound. Use Rabbit Hole to glue the drum tracks in a vintage style, to give synth riffs a slightly fuzzy hardness, to modify waveforms or as a weird, unstable oscillator with lots of Feedback without audio input. If the two inputs are not enough, you can expand them with up to eight Curiouser modules. Curiouser has the same beautiful-sounding OTA circuitry and is integrated into the Rabbit Hole's circuitry via a rear cable.
