The 320D Compellor from Aphex is a high-quality audio level controller that is ideal for broadcast, studio and live applications and scores with special compressor/limiter features. The 19" unit requires only one height unit in the rack and delivers reliable results when it comes to refining audio signals. Compression, leveling and peak limiting can be done either on both independent mono processors or via the link function for stereo applications - no matter whether analog or digital inputs/outputs are involved.
The 320 D serves as A-D converter with processing. If the analog input is used, the digital output contains the Compellor's processing and is thus ready for every conceivable application. On the other hand, it also works as a D/A converter, so that the analog output is appropriately levelled and packaged when using the digital input. The input and output sections are symmetrical and offer a button for switching between consumer or professional level, while the analog or digital source selection takes place at the rear.
The device's circuits are unique, patented and outstanding as they require neither maintenance nor calibration. Some Compellors have been in operation for years without a break and still carry out their work as if they were new. The performance with algorithms such as DVG, DRC and FDL is unparalleled and enriches every studio, every event and every radio station.
