The Allen&Heath Xone:23 is a 2+2 channel DJ mixer packed with pro features that would normally be found in the booth of a top-rated club, including an enhanced version of the legendary Xone filter with resonance control, VCA faders, 3 band total kill EQ, illuminated switches, crossfader curve selector and styling inspired by the flagship Xone:DB4.
I ordered the Xone 23 to replace my controller setup. I was running 2 turntables through a traktor S4 previously. I am now using a SC5000 on the line inputs and have the turntables running through the phono’s. The mixer sounds amazing compared with the S4. Levels are easy to gauge and there’s plenty of headroom when I’m mixing between vinyl and digital. One of the functions I lost from the S4 was internal recording but now I just take an RCA our from the record on the 23 into my sound card. My HS7 monitors really shine with this mixer. They’ve never sounded so good. I bought this mixer with every intention of upgrading to a larger Allen & Heath, alongside another SC5000 as well but I am more than happy for now because I have lost no functionality since swapping out my S4 and if anything mixing has become more enjoyable. I can beat match properly and the sound is awesome. I had ordered the same mixer on amazon from another vendor who emailed me saying they had listed the item by mistake and it was in fact out of stock. I paid £275 with £10 of that being postage. I was refunded and then bought it here for £229. I should have bought it here to begin with. I checked out as a guest which meant I couldn’t see the shipping details but I emailed and got a reply quickly with my tracking number for DHL. It arrived from the continent to Sunderland in 4 days. You can’t really ask for better than that, especially considering delivery was free. Very happy and would recommend / use again. Happy mixing!
