The Alesis Sample Pad Pro is a digital multipad with 8 trigger pads that can be assigned sounds at will. Already with the first generation of the Sample Pad, Alesis hit the nerve of the time. The possibility to store and recall your own sounds and samples comfortably and conveniently on a digital drum pad was used by many drummers to expand the relatively limited sound repertoire of an acoustic drum set. In the Pro version, the Sample Pad has now found its legitimate successor.
Instead of the four pads of its predecessor, the Sample Pad Pro now comes with eight two-shot rubber pads that are outlined with blue LEDs. In addition, there are 2 trigger inputs on the back of the Sample Pad Pro to connect additional pads. The range of connection options is completed by a kick, hihat and aux input, 1/4" stereo outputs, headphone jack and MIDI in & out.
With 200 sounds, the internal sound library of the Sample Pad Pro offers eight times as much choice as its predecessor. An additional 20 kits can be stored on SD card. The sophisticated LCD display design and the included software make working with the Sample Pad Pro easy and clear, even for digital drum novices.

Excerpt: The Alesis SamplePad Pro gathers eight percussion pads in one device. The pads are well playable and their velocity sensitivity can be controlled separately. In addition to the integrated samples and kits, you can of course also play your own sounds via SD card. Drummers and percussionists on a budget who don't want to rule out expanding their setup in the future should listen up - there is the option to connect additional modules as well as triggers and footswitches.

This sample pad has a really attaracting price and thats the main reason I bought it when looking at the features he offers.
It is built in good materials and the design is also really good looking.
Problems Ive found so far is that the sample pads do not always answer correctly, meaning that when you press per example pad 7, pad 4 is also playing the sound (and this is with the latest firmware update), so the response is not alwyas good enough.
Another problem is the sample pad interface with a computer, where I was not able to send samples directly from the laptop to the sample pad SD card.
The samples assignment to each pad square is also very slow and everything is done via sample pad menu, which is very time consuming.
