Well, this little module, for its price range, it is a monster.
It uses real sample sounds (much like Yamaha), but it has its perks and characteristics that not even the big boys in the e-drum departement have.
It has a huge expandabilitty to it, and when triggered right, it will make you smile a lot.
But there are some drawbacks in this. I am not implying that the module is bad, not really, it is quite versatile and has a LOT of potential. The thing here is that Alesis left out the DM10 to die. They had planed numerous sound libraries with VST qualitty sounds in them. Only launched a rather incomplete one (Bluejay).
There was a promisse of an O.S. 2.0 updated started by an ALESIS EMPLOYEE on the DMDrummer forum, but that never came to life. The module keeps his limitations that saddens everyone who is fully aware of its potential.
Ok, this isnt a Roland TP30, but for the price they are asking, it is a great product, and it is perfect for the DIY edrummers, and combined with an Alesis Trigger I|O this module becomes an untamable drumming beast.
So much potential. I have one and i have so much fun with it.
