The A5X is popular both among professionals in radio and television stations - for example in the broadcast van - as well as in the private home-recording sector. Its open, powerful sound also makes it a reliable tool in multimedia environments.
Reliable in the mix
Like all AX Series models, the A5X is equipped with an ADAM typical X-ART tweeter, below 2.5 kHz a 5.5" woofer is powered by a 32-mm-wide oscillating coil and a powerful 50-Watt PWM amplifier. Its acoustic qualities allow you to hear a clear feedback of the sound even with the smallest changes to the mixing console.
Sophisticated Equipment
A particularly useful feature of the A5X for a typical DAW desktop is the stereolink. Two additional input and output jacks for the second stereo channel allow you to control the volume of both monitors on the volume control of only one speaker. The volume control of the other monitor affects only its own volume, in order to be able to easily compensate for possible differences in the audio frequencies to the two monitors. Unlike the classic master-slave ratio, each A5X is fully equipped.
Bought couple of new Adam A5X's for home studio in the music shop and found that one of monitors has twitter's edges bent a bit, and there is a small print / dots of glue on the speaker. Checked back with ADAM Quality Control, and they assured that these are A-stock A5X units with a note that the X-ART Tweeter is hand made in Berlin, so there can be slight differences in look, that won’t affect the sound or performance of the monitor. Hope same for one of the speakers for long time. Sounds good.
All I can say is this product is a dream the sound quality was very very surprising especially after I ran some pink noise through for a day or so it really brought them to life. I can hear all details on some of my tracks I’ve played through them and nothing is hidden.
