The AbletonLive Standard has been one of the most popular DAWs for music production of all kinds for many years and is now entering its eleventh round with this version. In addition to the extremely extensive features of recent years, a number of functions are now added that will improve your workflow yet again. This is eg. and tools for everyday use, new effects and sounds or but the optimal integration of MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) hardware. Whether you're mixing, mastering, sound designing, composing, or just jamming with the VSTs, AbletonLive 11 delivers something for everyone!
Comping
Comping lets you break down multiple passes of your audio/MIDI performance into individual takes. Then simply select your favorite parts and merge them into one perfect take. The comping function also allows you to combine samples from your collection to create new sound structures.
Parallel editing of multiple tracks
You can link multiple tracks and edit them simultaneously with just a few clicks. This allows you to edit synth groups or entire tape recordings in one go. This function also applies to MIDI tracks.
Include MPE controllers
Special MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) Hardware can control multiple parameters of a single note in real time. This MIDI playing style is now also possible in combination with AbletonLive 11: Give chord notes more expressive power by applying bends, slides and pressure playing techniques. Create subtle variations, morphing chords and more lively textures in no time.
Everyday tools for any workflow
Change the probability of notes and drum hits, and get surprising variations that keep changing. Set the range of random velocity changes for subtle and human dynamic variations. Live's Follow actions can now be based on clip length for even more structured work. You can also make Live's Follow actions jump to specific clips and turn them on and off completely. Use Follow Actions for scenes to create lively arrangements.
3 new instruments, 3 new Sound Packs
The already huge sound library of AbletonLive is now enlarged even further. In cooperation with Spitfire Audio and various artists you get three new virtual instruments (Upright Piano, Brass Quartet & String Quartet) and three sample packs from different styles.
More effects, more possibilities
You can never have enough effects, which is why the suite now brings you more tools. There is the Hybrid Reverb, which combines convolution reverb with algorithmic reverb to create either real reverb rooms or sound worlds beyond physical reality. Then there's the Spectral Resonator, which deforms any audio signal beyond recognition, and Spectral Time for lively echoes with freeze, Glitch and stutter features. Find out what else is on board in the video.
Flexibility on stage
Software that responds to your own instrument playing like a real bandmate? With dynamic tempo adjustment, AbletonLive 11 automatically adjusts to the tempo of incoming signals. This turns the software into a dynamic bandmate rather than a beat-setter that everyone else must necessarily follow.
Micro snapshots
Macro knob settings can be saved and recalled later - perfect for spontaneous sound variations or builds and drops on stage.
Rack optimizations
In Live 11, you can now add up to 16 macro controls to your Live Racks. While the Random button brings randomness into play, custom MIDI mappings can create spontaneous sound changes that are sure to surprise your audience and yourself.
