The TD-50KVX from Roland is the high-end flagship of the V-Drums series. It is an absolutely professional e-drum set with infinite expressiveness and variety. The heart of this drum set is the Roland TD-50 sound module with Prismatic Sound Modeling technology, which perfectly implements even the smallest details and thus delivers the best drum sound, characterized by lively and powerful drum signals. The included KD-220 Bass Drum from Roland is made of maple and enhances the look and feel of the drum. Another highlight is the Roland PD-140DS Digital Snare in 14" with a sensitive multi-sensor system, which allows the drummer to realize every imaginable playing technique with perfect drum sound and great dynamic conditions. The CY-18DR Digital Ride also features Roland's new Multi Sensor System and, thanks to a completely newly developed connection protocol between the pads and the module, a drum playing experience is created that has never been seen before. The TD-50 module from Roland is the first drum module worldwide to be able to sample, i.e. loops in WAV format can be triggered via the module, adjusted track by track and combined with the internal sounds - nothing stands in the way of professional live and studio drum performance. With the PD-140DS snare pad and the ride cymbal CY-18DR, Roland introduces two completely new components to the exclusive e-drum range. The 14-inch PD-140DS digital snare pad does not only look like an acoustic snare, it also plays like one. Thanks to the completely renewed multi-sensor system, it allows virtually any kind of playing technique. An extremely sensitive response and the enormous dynamic range give the snare pad an expressive power, which can hardly be distinguished from an acoustic snare drums.
The CY-18DR ride pad comes with similar quality, because the 18" cymbal pad offers high-resolution sound triggering of previously unknown quality. The pad can be played over the entire surface from the top to the edge and reacts with the corresponding sounds.
The Roland KD-220 Trigger Bass Drum is a high-quality bass drum with the latest Roland bass drum technology, installed in an acoustic drum shell. It consists of high-quality maple and has noble custom inlays of chrome. The playing feel is completely realistic, thanks to the innovative Roland damper technology and the air that is moved in the shell when playing.
When the beater hits the playing surface, it produces the usual resistance of an acoustic bass drum. The triggering of the Roland KD-220 is extremely precise for single and double pedals. The optical presence of the KD-220 pays off especially in live use, where the optics of the V-Drum Set are significantly enhanced. Compatible with all V-Drum racks, modules and normal drum hardware, the Roland KD-220 is the perfect choice for all professional drummers on stage with Roland E-Drums.
Via SD Card you can send up to four own sample tracks from the TD-50 module and then integrate them into your performance, i.e. mix them with the internal sounds. No additional sample pads etc. are necessary and the whole band benefits from the Roland sound module. If desired, you can also connect to PC and MAC via USB to control DAWs and make professional recordings. For use at concerts and live performances there are eight balanced direct outputs, which can be individually adjusted in volume and of course assigned with 3-band EQ and several effects. Many drummers prefer a normal bass drum for optical reasons and because of the playing feel. The TD-50 module in combination with Roland's KD-A22 Kick Drum Converter transforms any 22" bass drum into a kick pad with a real playing feel. So your acoustic bass drum becomes a part of your Roland V-Drum set up with ease.
As an exclusive extra for Music Store customers, the TD-50 sound module comes with an extra sound pack on SD card with high quality drum samples, created and recorded by ex-Toto drummer Simon Phillips himself. The high-resolution samples offer tremendous dynamics and are not to be surpassed in sound quality and expressive power. With these features, the Simon Phillips samples are a great addition to the module's internal sounds, enriching the TD-50's sound offerings. In addition to the two Simon Phillips drum kits you will find two more kits on the SD card. This is a synth kit and a kit with drums from the 80s. There are also three songs on the SD card, which demonstrate the kits with original MIDI triggers from Simon Phillips.
The fifth drum kit on the included SD card is an exclusive sound package by Marco Minnemann, a German drummer, who now works as a musician in Los Angeles. Back in Europe Marco Minnemann played with Paul Gilbert, Udo Lindenberg, Paddy Kelly, Terry Bozzio, Chad Wackerman, Wolfgang Schmid, Kreator, Mike Keneally and Nena.
