Although it produces more 'tube sag' compared to silicon diodes, the 5AR4 - or also called GZ34 - offers a very responsive and dynamic character. The 5AR4 finds application in the Mesa Boogie Heartbreaker, Blue Angel, Maverick and makes an ideal replacement for many other vintage amps.
